Perennial color is of course the most popular as the investment pays dividends as time goes on. Annual color then is trustworthy, filling the void between successive perennial blooms and providing consistent color throughout the summer.

Pondless Waterfall
Pondless Waterfalls are simply a re-circulating waterfall and/or stream without the presence of a pond. You can enjoy the sight and sound of running water without the maintenance of a pond.
The waterfall is undoubtedly the most beautiful and favored feature in a water garden. If space is lacking in your yard or you have safety concerns with a pond, go Pondless! The name basically explains it all. It’s a waterfall and stream, without the pond. So why would you want a waterfall without a pond? The truth is that a Pondless Waterfall isn’t for everyone, but it can be a great alternative for someone who isn’t quite sure if a pond is right for their family.
Safety
Because there is no pool of water, a Pondless Waterfall is a great option if you are concerned about safety issues associated with a traditional pond.

Space
The small size of the Pondless Waterfall means you can build and enjoy a beautiful waterfall anywhere in you yard.
Maintenance - Taking care of your Pondless Waterfall is easy. Filling the reservoir every few weeks to compensate for water loss because of evaporation is all that’s required.
Flexibility
Perhaps the best part of the Pondless Waterfall is the possibility for the future. If you change your mind later, wishing you’d build a pond, that’s ok! If you leave enough room around the base of the waterfall, it’s easy to add a pond onto a Pondless Waterfall.
Complete System
It might be difficult to imagine a waterfall and stream without a pond. Where does the water go? A Pondless Waterfall works much like a regular pond. The hole, deeper than a normal pond, is dug then lined with rock and gravel, and filled with water. The water is then circulated from beneath the rocks and gravel by a pump that sits on the bottom, inside a Snorkel Vault and Centipede Module. A pipe runs from there up to a BioFalls Filter and into an overflowing waterfall, where it falls back into the reservoir. Since the water level never pools above the level of the rock and gravel fill, it give the appearance of a waterfall without a pond, when in fact, the “pond” is there but not visible.
The Pondless Waterfall has made many water-lovers who were previously unable to indulge in the sweet sounds of falling water, very happy. It’s a great alternative for those who are trying to get their feet wet, or looking to fit a little bit of paradise into their own backyard. In other words, when all else fails … go Pondless!

Narrow side yard features a gravel path with inlaid "stepping stones" made of metal circles embedded in the gravel and ringed with Mexican black pebbles. Inside the stepping stones are plantings of dwarf mondo grass, 'Sunshine' creeping veronica, and Corsican mint. Dwarf Hinoiki cypress accents and softens the view of this play house and garden shed. On this level, the structure is two story structure is a play house. Below is a garden shed, adjacent to the swimming pool that houses tools and pool equipment. I did not design this awesome structure but I sure felt special to be able to design the plants around it, enter it, play and dream! The cypress is Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis' also known as a slender hinoiki false cypress. It is extremely slow growing eventually reaching a height of 8-15'. A little island oasis of plants pokes up from the pavement. Filled with drought and deer tolerant plants, it is as pretty as it is hardy.

Sinuous Driveway - Acts as the backbone of the garden. Both the lower and upper garden are bordered by Annabelle Hydrangeas and Zelkovas planted along the asphalt driveway making the driveway recede and emphasizing a garden feel to an otherwise functional space.

This custom built arbor not only showcases the detail in the wood work, but also puts on a show when the Carolina Yellow Jasmine is in bloom. A spectacular entrance to the perfect garden.

A beautiful home was surrounded by an old and poorly laid out landscape before our firm was called in to evaluate ways to re-organize the spaces and pull the whole look together for the rich and refined tastes of this client. Today they are proud to entertain at poolside where there is now enough space to have over-flowing parties. A vine covered custom wood lattice arbor successfully hides the side of the garage while creating a stunning focal point at the shallow end of the pool. An intimate courtyard garden is just a step outside the Master Bedroom where the sounds of the central water fountain can be heard throughout the house and lush plantings, cobblestone paving and low iron rail accents transport you to New Orleans. The front yard and stone entry now truly reflect this home’s incredible interior and a charming rose garden, that was once an unused lawn area, leads to a secret garden.
